Michael Mueller These guys sure can play. This is, tight, lithe, muscular jazz. Compositionally rich (very rich, actually; bordering on chamber-music at times) but still with lightness of touch that delights these ears.

All parts of this whole are of high quality and seamlessly integrated, but the piano is especially truly exquisite in parts.

A very impressive jazz album, and one that is sure to be held in increasing regard in the years to come.

Favorite track: Bapmgwala.

Lute FP This falls into what I'd call Hard Jazz, which I rarely like, yet there's something about the song structures and musicianship which causes this to transcend that label. I'm really digging this.
